This little boy of mine is a mover and a shaker! I have been feeling him for a while now. It started off as very light taps and now he moves around so much that I get tickled, no really...I'm that ticklish! The movement is getting stronger and more consistant. Darren was finally able to feel a real and true movement yesterday morning. I love it! Finally, he can be part of this adventure (not that he wasn't before, but for the husband, there's not much you can feel, kwim?).
I like to think that he is dancing around in there, but Darren has already said that he won't be a dancer..hahah! Maybe he will be a swimmer? Either way, I love it and love him!

Guilty
I feel like the worst mom ever and baby boy isn't even here yet.
I have been fighting off a cold for more than a week with no signs of it getting better. I tried my hardest to by tough and push through without any kind of medicine other than simple Tylenol, but IT.WAS.NOT.WORKING.!!!
I called the doctor and after my very descriptive version of bodily fluids...she determined that I indeed have an infection and need an antibiotic. She called it in for me and I waited two days to pick it up. I didn't want to have to get it.
After much begging from my husband, and double checking with the pharmasist that it was ok that I take it, I paid for my package and left with my tail between my legs.
I can't believe that I am doing this....I can't believe that I am taking a prescription while pregnant... As I swalled my first pill, all I could think about was giving my sweet little boy some sort of crazy birth defect. I AM FEELING SO GUILTY ABOUT THE WHOLE THING.
I keep trying to remind myself to weigh the risks vs the benefits. If I am sick, my baby is sick. If I have an infection, my baby could get the infection. Please God, let this horrible thing that I will dub as a "pregnancy cold" go fast.
Any other mothers out there have to take an antibiotic while pregnant? Please help me to feel ok about my decision......
sniff sniff...cough cough....

19
Time is flying by. I am so excited for Owen to get here, but I am not quite ready yet. Good thing I have about 21 more weeks. It sounds like forever away, but if I compare it to the past 19 weeks, it will be here in no time. Then throw in all of the upcoming holidays and March is pretty much here!
This week Owen is the size of a Mango: Does that even seem possible?
Baby Stats (according to BabyCenter.com):
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
Baby Stats (according to me):
How far along? 19 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: finally starting to gain some weight.... + 3.5 lbs.
Maternity clothes? I have a pair of jeans that I wear, but am mostly just wearing the Bella Band with my regular pants. All of my shirts are still good to go at this point.
Stretch marks? None! And I really hope that it stays that way. My mom doesn't have any and they say that it is hereditary, so hopefully I am in the clear!
Sleep: Between the crazy dreams and multiple trips to the bathroom, sleep is getting worse and worse. It definetely could be worse though....
Best moment this week: Darren felt Owen move from the outside last night. It was light, but he could feel it!!!
Movement: a little bit... Even though still sporadic, movement is getting more frequent and stronger as the days pass.
Food cravings: Not really any serious cravings. Hmmm....maybe a cheeseburger?
Gender: Sweet Baby Boy!
Labor Signs: Absolutely not thank you very much and I would like to keep it that way for at least 20 more weeks.
Belly Button in or out? in, but a little shallower than before
Wedding rings on or off? Still on... haven't noticed too much swelling yet.
What I miss: hhmmm....I think I am good this week.
What I am looking forward to: Anatomy Scan on Wed. I can't wait to see Owen again! I could watch him in there for hours.
Weekly Wisdom: I don't feel all to wise yet - or at least wise enough to be sharing wisdom. But I will say I've learned to go to bed when tired, and even if its 8:30 thats ok, I'm no longer cool regardless of how I look at it!
Milestones: feeling outside kicks! :)
Here I am this morning at 19 weeks:
Wow that was a long post....sorry!

Baby Stats (according to BabyCenter.com):
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. Crib Assembly = No fighting!!
This weekend we finally got around to assembling the crib. Everyone warned us.... don't put the crib together together, it will only end in a fight. I am proud to say that assembly is completed and we are still married. hahhaha....
Maybe it's because I let Darren do it while I tooksome alot pictures.
He wasn't too happy when I asked him to pause for a quick smile. It didn't help that my flash took about 10 seconds and it took about 3 "takes" before I got the picture without him moving.
Here it is all put together!!! I love it and can't wait to get my bedding on it!
This is the matching dresser and just a few things that Owen has waiting for him.
Next stop....PAINT! Let's get this thing going!

18 and movement.
I've hit the 18th week....can you believe it? I can not even fathom that I am almost half way there. It seems like yesterday that I was staring that those two little pink lines. Time flies when you're having fun!
This week:
Owen is the size of a sweet potato. Not the prettiest of pictures, but you get the point. He weighs a whopping 7 oz.
Head to rump, he is about 5 1/2 inches long and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. His genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Here is an 18 week bump pic from this morning. Please excuse the wethead look.....
And now for the best part of this update.....I have finally felt him moving around in there!!!! Saturday night, I laid down to go to sleep and felt a short little, what I like to call, blip in my bikini line area. It was short but sweet and almost felt like a muscle spasm or what you feel when your eye twitches.
On Sunday morning, I had my hand resting on my stomach, and felt sort of a rolling sensation. I am not sure if this was Owen or not, but it was really cool.
Since this weekend, I have been able to distinctly tell when I feel him. It is typically only when I am laying down still, but I know that it will be no time before he starts dancing around in there all day long.
I am so in love!

Overboard? I think not!
Two posts in one day.....crazy, I know!
This weekend, I was enlightened on a little thing called a consignment fair (at least that is what I am calling it). Holy crap, they had a lot of stuff and C.H.E.A.P.!
Check out my finds....
And the best part..... 27 pieces for $40! Forty dollars, people!!! I think that I basically stole these items from the store. So SUE ME!
This is my favorite.... a little doggy hat and gloves. Since Poppy (who we will now refer to as Owen...that's right ...he has an official name) will be born in Feb/March, this little set will come in handy!
