We went in for our 9 week follow up yesterday. It had been 2 weeks since we had seen Poppy and with having a missed miscarriage last time, I was scared to death that they would start the conversation with the words " I am very sorry". I am trying my hardest to be positive, but for those of you that have had a loss before, you know how it is, right?
Well, those words were not mentioned at all. Actually the conversation stated with " There's your baby"! And boy did Poppy look like a baby. We could see his (let's just say he for now) little arms and legs. He has a big ole noggin'. His heart rate was at 176 BPM and I was able to get audio of it, which I will now be listening to ALL OF THE TIME! He measured just a few days ahead, but of course that is normal so we will be keeping the same due date of March 5th.
We even got to see him move around. I think Poppy is going to be a mover and a shaker...a dancer of some sorts. He was just a dancin' around....kind of a pop and lock routine...hahaha. I can't wait to see him again in 2 weeks. We go in for our NT scan which is very scary. I am going to keep the faith though and hey, it's another chance for us to see Poppy!
I would like to introduce everyone to our little Poppy! Don't worry, we will be giving him a real name as soon as we know the sex. But for now....Introducing Poppy Jenkins!!!!
